A Week in Review

This past week started off pretty good.  My friend Norma and I went to the Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach. It was my first time going, and I was glad we went. I don’t know how many people out there enjoy history, museum and the arts, but I certainly do!  What prompted us to go is the exhibit: Out of This World: Extraordinary Costumes from Film and Television. They had so many awesome costumes from various sci-fi movies…everything from the Terminator to Ghostbusters.  Unfortunately, photography was prohibited but I sneaked in a couple of shots with the trusty iPhone!  I was laughing so hard because this old woman kept asking us if everyone was a bad guy…hahaha! Evidently Spiderman was a bad guy, LOL! The museum was really impressive everything from Picasso to Georgia O’Keefe and even Andy Warhol.  They did have one room I didn’t understand…One exhibit featured a florescent light with colored lights behind the fixture, another was a plexiglass stand under a glass casing…and painted black lacquered with a strip of gold leaf on plywood. Here is the museums site: http://www.norton.org/

I saw Woody Allen’s new movie Midnight in Paris, which featured Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams. I enjoyed it. I love the idea that at midnight you can transport    into an earlier time period and meet historical writers, painters, etc.. I really like the 1930s-40s time period. Although I love technology and modern conveniences of  today, in that era people seemed to respect people and things were more proper…a time where men courted women, everyone seemed more glamorous. The movie poster   artwork is awesome….almost starry musing-esque!!!

On another note, my trip to Asheville is ruined because Adele canceled her North American tour due to laryngitis. I was so excited to see Adele. Maybe she will reschedule. I guess we will use the flight for another time. If you are not familiar with her music, check out this link:  http://youtu.be/OZtUjFJvYkA

Back at the gym this week after a long hiatus! Saw some guy in his boxers exercising…what a treat for me…..not!!!!

Watched several episodes of VH1 storytellers this week….I love stories behind songs, it gives you a greater understanding behind the songs, although they didn’t really have anyone too exciting on, I did like Ray LaMontange. His music was a little sleepy, but I liked his stories.

I also have been totally consumed by the Casey Anthony trial, I listen to it at work, listen to the commentators. I am a case junkie LOL

I just started reading Shannon Doherty’s book Badass….it is a ridiculous read. I only bought it because it was $3 at a Borders store closing and I met her in person. years ago at a convention. Still trying to finish the Happiness Project. I also am debating about buying the new Lady Gaga CD…I was getting tired of her, then I saw her HBO special finally and it changed my mind.  To be continued….
