Seether, Bush and Nickelback Concert Review

May 5th, 2012
Bank Atlantic Center – Sunrise, Florida

Last night, on Cinco de Mayo, I went to see Seether, Bush and Nickelback at the Bank Atlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida.  I mainly went to see Bush, because I love Gavin Rossdale. Things first got off to a shaky start because the guy I purchased the tickets from didn’t show up until 40 minutes into the show, needless to say we were annoyed. Luckily, we only missed a not so known opening band.  So when we got to our seats in the lower 101 section, row 4 (near the stage), we were so excited to be that close.

Seether was decent but the lighting was so dark you could barely see them and the sound needed to be adjusted,  other than that their songs are great.Image

Bush was so awesome. Nothing beats the time I saw them at MTV2’s Campus Tour at FAU in Boca 11 years ago, but this came close. Machinehead was the opening song. The best part of their performance is when they performed a cover of the Beatles Come Together and Gavin walked almost through the whole arena climbed to different tiers and hugged the fans…of course I was seated in the section he didn’t come through.

The crowd was a combo of motorcycle peeps, cougars, people in their 30’s and 40’s good blend. Interesting outfits.

Nickelback was the main act and I have to admit I was not a fan. I liked a couple of their songs and thought I was going to be bored the whole night. Boy, was I wrong! They kept the crowd moving. Incredible lighting, fireballs, fireworks, elevated second stage etc. I was pleasantly surprised. The lead singer looks so much better and younger since he chopped off his curly mop. All in All it was pretty incredible I have to say.
